Bulk Bag Unloading With Internal Dust Collection

Dynamic Air has developed several models of bulk bag unloaders that include internal dust collection. These models avoid the need for adding a separate dust collector to unload bulk bags. By making the dust collection internal to the dust collector, the Dynamic Air BulkBuster bulk bag unloader not only provides a clean environment but it also allows any dust collected to be recycled back into the process, eliminating any waste material. Dynamic Air's BulkBuster bulk bag unloaders also include options for automatic bag opening/closing, automatic splitting of flat bottom bags, and the ability to unload both small and bulk bags in one unit.

Customer Operator Training Now Offered
at Dynamic Air

Dynamic Air recently conducted its 22nd Customer Operator training seminar. The class is a two day seminar geared to training our customers' operators and engineers on the function and maintenance of Dynamic Air's equipment and conveying systems. This class is offered to familiarize the plant maintenance and operating personnel with specific performance and behavioral characteristics of a Dynamic Air dense phase pneumatic conveying system, to reinforce the basic understanding of the PLC electrical controller and how it is used to control the Dynamic Air conveying system, and to demonstrate the basic procedure of examining and the disassembly/assembly of butterfly valves. This class also includes a half-day training session in our test facility troubleshooting a working pneumatic conveying system. Operator Training Seminars are provided on a biannual basis and are provided at no charge to our customers. Anyone interested in attending the next training seminar is encouraged to contact Tom Acheson (tom.acheson@dynamicair.com) for more information.

A New Commuter Light Rail for Minnesota

Dynamic Air direct sanding module
Dynamic Air direct sanding module

The state of Minnesota recently purchased a Dynamic Air HDP 4000 dense phase pneumatic conveying system complete with a storage silo for conveying traction sand for a new Light Rail maintenance facility that will service a 60 mile rail line from St. Cloud, Minnesota to Minneapolis. The new maintenance facility, located in St Cloud, MN, will utilize the Dynamic Air HDP 4000 dense phase full line concept pneumatic conveying system to deliver sand from a storage silo to any of four (4) direct sanding modules. Each module will then deliver the sand directly to the Light Rail locomotive.

Chewing Gum Manufacturer Chooses Dynamic Air for Handling Fragile Sorbitol

Dynamic Air provided a major chewing gum manufacturer with a complete process system for conveying and handling Sorbitol, a very fragile artificial sweetener used in making sugarless chewing gum. Dynamic Air equipment included a Blendcon air blender, HDP 4000 pneumatic conveying systems, and a loss-in-weight feeder for this difficult to handle and very fragile product. In addition to being a very fragile material to pneumatically convey, it is also a very difficult material to convey because it is not only sensitive to moisture but is very sticky and cohesive. Dynamic Air's HDP 4000 full line concept conveying system has more than proven itself and, as a result, Dynamic Air has installed eleven additional systems in two different manufacturing facilities.

New Products Inspire Need For Unique Bella Mixer/Dryers

A major chemical manufacturer is exploring new methods to make some of their products. The capabilities of the Bella mixer/dryer, including its performance capability as a dryer, cooler, liquid addition function, and excellent overall process interaction, resulted in this company purchasing two different sized Bella mixer/dryers for its research and development facility. The two mixer/dryers were purchased such that the larger mixer/dryer is 10 times the size of the smaller mixer/dryer so that this company can conduct trials with new products and also confirm the scale-up capabilities of the Bella mixer/dryer by comparing test results of the small and large units. Thus far, this company has been extremely pleased with the versatility of the Bella mixer/dryers with growing applications with various products.

Custom Blending and Conveying of Tobacco

A major tobacco products manufacturer had a need to pneumatically convey and custom blend various grades of tobacco for delivery to three (3) mixers. Dynamic Air provided an LDV 2000 vacuum conveying system to pneumatically convey to any of four large silos along with 12 port silo blenders to pneumatically blend various grades of tobacco leaves. After air blending each batch in the silo, the finished or blended batch is then conveyed with Accu-Flo screw feeders to a common weigh hopper, which can weigh any combination of three silo blends. Then, upon demand, a Kraus Gyro vibratory loss-in-weight feeder discharges the custom blend into an LDV 2000 vacuum pneumatic conveying system where it is delivered to any of three (3) tobacco mixers.
